5. The Forest of Bowland
Enter one of the wildest places in the country, just a few minutes from Lancaster. Jubilee Tower, The Langden Valley, and the many fells make The Forest of Bowland a great place to explore.
6. Lancashire's highest point
At 628m, Gragareth, on Leck Fellm is Lancashire's highest point. It sits 200m within the county boundary, although it is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Great views over Ingleborough, Whernside, Pen Y Gent, Pendle Hill, The Lune Valley, Morecambe Bay, and the Lakeland Fells.
7. The Silverdale coastline
The rugged coastline at Silverdale provides stunning views, interesting history and lots of options for exploring. Jenny Brown's Point is a popular spot.
8. Warton Crag
Dominated by limestone cliffs, decorated by wildflowers and colonised by rare butterflies, Warton Crag offers stunning views over Morecambe Bay and some lovely woodland walks.
