The crew returned to station and prepared the hovercraft for the next call to service.

Launch Authority Martyn Browitt said: “This incident served as a timely reminder for anyone using The Bay. There are many hidden areas of mud and quicksand which can trap people in seconds. Stay close to the shoreline and make sure someone on the shore is aware of your whereabouts at all times.”

If you see anyone in difficulty in the bay always call the Coastguard on 999.
