The dilapidated arcade is between the former Hitchens and B&M stores in Morecambe and has been dirty and smelly and full of graffiti for decades.
Now demolition has started, the alley will be transformed into a food court.
Johnny’s Entertainments Ltd own the alleyway being demolished, as well as Pleasureland Amusements, Jump Rush Trampoline Park, Vista Italian Kitchen and Soul Bowl Bowling Alley, the former Woolworths building, and the former Hitchins building.
Last year a spokesman for Johnny’s Entertainments Ltd said after the planning application for demolition of the alley had been approved: “The proposal (for demolition) includes the safe removal of several existing structures and a wider clean-up and investigation of the area, with a view to transforming it into a welcoming public space designed in the style of a contemporary food courtyard.”
