The challenge was organised by Lou’s friend Vicky Mount who said: “We completed our 24 hour spin and what a weekend it was. Our Just Giving page for St John's Hospice currently stands at £3623 plus £698.47 to be added for gift aid. We also raised £858.90 for Bowel Cancer. “Big thanks to everyone that donated, popped to see us, bought a raffle ticket or hopped on the bike.
"Special shout out to Salt Ayre and their great staff for hosting us and keeping us motivated, fed and watered. Also want to thank all the local business's that donated raffle prizes. “Now on with planning next year's event!"
Lou died in June after a 12 month battle with bowel cancer.
Vicky said: “She had just turned 54. She spent her last two weeks in St John's Hospice where they took amazing care of her and her family so I wanted to give something back.
"Salt Ayre hosted the event as Lou had been a member there forever. It was her second home.
“I also used the weekend to raise awareness of bowel cancer, symptoms and the support out there.”
