Sarah Berry launched her Stampin’ Up business six years ago, and is now doing so well she has won top prizes within the firm two years running.

Sarah, who lives in Willowfield Road, Heysham, took up the challenge of running her own business after studying fashion and textiles at Lancaster University.

As well as being an independent rep for the US firm Stampin’ Up, the 27-year-old now runs her own classes, teaching people how to make stationery, calendars, cards and decorations.

She said: “I was making stationery and I looked into the idea of teaching, and found there was nothing out there like this for people to go to.”

Sarah now runs classes in Heysham and Halton and for the last three years has run events and craft days around the district, including a new ‘craftanoon day’ in Carnforth from September.

Her work has become so successful that last year she was awarded a luxury holiday in Madeira for collecting the most points from money earned.

Working from home also means Sarah can fit her job in around her husband Tom and sons Matthew, four, and Adam, 20 months.

And this year she has already won a Mediterranean cruise.

Sarah said: “I have to think of it as a business because that’s what it is.

“But I have made so many friends and feel like it is more of a hobby because I am doing something I love.”
