LANCASTER and Fleetwood MP Eric Ollerenshaw has spoken out in Parliament in support of residents opposing wind turbine applications in the district.
A House of Commons debate on onshore wind energy last Thursday followed another discussion in Lancaster recently where attendees voted in favour of a minimum distance being set between wind turbines and residential properties.
Mr Ollerenshaw spoke out against a planning application for 20 wind turbines at Claughton Moor in Caton, which was rejected by Lancaster City Council’s planning committee.
Applicants Community Windpower are currently appealing the decision, and have submitted another application for 13 wind turbines in the same place.
