Motorists face delays during M6 roadworks

Work is taking place to install four new giant electronic message signs near Junction 33 of the M6.

The signs will give drivers better warnings of incidents and other information about the motorway such as weather conditions.

New CCTV cameras will also be mounted on the signs – allowing the Highways Agency to monitor and manage motorway incidents more effectively.

The work should be completed by Friday, March 14.

Until then, lane one of the motorway is likely to be closed around the clock in both directions while the work takes place, and some overnight closures of lane two will also be necessary.

Meanwhile, the northbound exit slip road at Junction 34 and two lanes on the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight for resurfacing work from 8pm on Saturday, March 15 until 6am on Sunday, March 16.
