Most husbands buy their wives chocolate and flowers. But Tony Sullivan went one better.

Tony bought his wife Sarah the sign from above the door of her favourite nightclub the Carleton.

Now it’s taking pride of place above their own door, in their dining room on Osborne Road just a short distance down the road from the shut-down Carleton.

Tony said it was the ideal gift for Sarah, who used to go to the Carleton regularly when she was a teenager.

She also recently had a great time at the last dance music night at the Morecambe club before its closure to make way for flats.

Tony, commercial manager at Pye Motors, successfully bid £322 for the sign in an auction held by the ‘Final Farewell’ organisers, with the proceeds going to St John’s Hospice.
