Fitness enthusiasts raised more than £2,500 for children’s charity Unique Kidz by taking part in a 12-hour Superhero Spin-a-Thon.
The money will go towards the fundraising campaign ‘Team Unique’ which sees two young adults who attend 4Eva Unique at Unique Kidz and Co take part in this year’s Great North Run, with 16 other team mates.
The Spin-a-Thon was held at BayFit in Morecambe and members of the gym all arrived dressed for the occasion as their favourite Superheroes.
Jefferson Cartmell, owner and personal trainer at BayFit said: “We are so privileged to be charity partners with Unique Kidz & Co and we are proud to say that after this event the total monies raised by BayFit for the charity overall has gone over £10,000.
“We look forward to putting on more events in the future to make this total even higher.”
Ellen Smith, a fundraiser for Unique Kidz and Co, said: “The whole atmosphere of the event was brilliant. It’s always amazing to see the local community pulling together and when things got tough for someone at 3am, there was someone there to lift their spirits.”
The total raised has kept climbing over the weekend and currently stands at £2,652.80, which is a fantastic boost for the Great North Run campaign.
