Morecambe fundraiser to help Nigerian children

A group who aim to help vulnerable children in a Nigerian community are holding a fundraising evening.

MARTHA, which stands for, Making African children Realise Their Hopes and Aspirations, is a not-for-profit organisation set up Mike and Mercy Statter. The couple want to carry on the work of Mercy’s late mother, Martha Okoro, to build a school for the children in Ekenobizi. It was always Martha’s dream to build a school for children, who through family hardship and poverty, would never get the opportunity to realise their hopes and dreams through and educational route.

Trimpell Sports and Social Club, Out Moss Lane, Morecambe. There will be music from various DJs including, Steve Jahvis, DJ Ian and the young local band, Beaufort. There will also be a raffle, an auction and free food. Tickets £5 on the door. To find out more visit www.marthasdream.org.
