Morecambe fun run funds will ring in the changes

A fun run is being organised by Morecambe Town Council to help raise funds for a Time and Tide bell to be installed at the end of the Stone Jetty in Morecambe.

No date has yet been announced but the plan is for the run to take place on the promenade on a Sunday in summer.

Entrants will pay a fee to enter the event which will cover the cost of setting up for the fun run.

The idea is for all surplus funds to be donated towards the cost of the Time and Tide bell, which rings as the tide comes in and out.

A planning application for the bell has been submitted to Lancaster City Council.

In the event planning for the bell was refused by the city council, the fun run funds would be donated to a local charity.
