The ride will take place on Sunday, April 10 at 1pm and will leave from Salt Ayre Sports Centre, heading along Morecambe Promenade to Hest Bank before returning along part of the canal.

The ride is for those who can cycle but are perhaps keen to dust off their bikes and build up confidence in a group setting.

It will be led by volunteers from Sustrans and will be a flat 10 mile circular route taking in part of the new Bay Cycle Way. The ride costs £2 and places are limited so booking is essential at www.morecambebay.org.uk/events

Susannah Bleakley of the Morecambe Bay Partnership charity said: “The pace will be gentle and there will be opportunities for loos, brews and, most importantly, fantastic views, along the way.”

The Bay Cycle Way recently picked up a ‘Highly Commended’ medal at the VisitEngland Awards.
