Man wanted in connection with stabbing

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Morecambe are appealing for help to find a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Officers are trying to trace Bradley O’Mara, 22, of no fixed address, after a 45-year-old man was stabbed to the shoulder on Needham Avenue at about 7.30pm on Friday.

The victim was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he was treated for a single stab wound.

He has since been released from hospital.

O’Mara is described as white, of slim build, approximately 6ft tall with short dark brown hair.

He is thought to have links to the Morecambe, Lancaster, Blackpool and Preston areas.

DI Phil Jones of Lancaster CID said: “Our investigation into this incident is on-going and we are keen to speak to Bradley O’Mara as part of our enquiries.

“I would like to reassure the public that this appears to have been an isolated incident and we do not belive there is a threat to the wider community.

“If anyone has seen O’Mara or has any information on his whereabouts, I would urge them not to approach him but to contact us as soon as possible.”
