Man trapped in car after Caton Road smash

The fire service were called out to Caton Road at 7.51am on Monday to reports of a two car collision, with a man said to be trapped in one of the cars.

When fire crews arrived, police and paramedics were already at the scene.

A BMW 3 series convertible had been involved in a crash with a Land Rover.

The driver of the BMW had suspected lower back injuries and this meant removing him from the vehicle on a special board to prevent further injury.

Firefighters had to cut through the roof mechanism to allow the roof to be folded down.

The man was removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital for treatment.
