Man still critical after M6 crash

A black Toyota Corolla was travelling southbound with three passengers on board at around 5.20pm on Saturday (July 9). The car travelled from the third lane, coming off the carriageway and collided with a barrier at junction 35 at Carnforth, setting on fire.

The driver – a 32 year old man from Bolton – suffered pelvis and head injuries. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The front seat passenger – a 29-year-old man from Preston – was left with a broken collar bone and the back passenger – a 31-year-old woman from Bolton – suffered spinal injuries.

Officers are still keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

Sgt John Jennings-Warton said: “We are trying to ascertain exactly what happened and how this collision came to occur and so I am asking any witnesses who might have seen something that could help us with our investigation to get in touch.”
