A man was in a critical but stable condition in hospital after being hurt in an ‘altercation’ at a Morecambe pub.
The 72-year-old man was found at the Kings Arms in Morecambe with serious head injuries and taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
A police spokesman said they believed the man’s injuries came about following an altercation with door staff.
Det Sgt Mark Dickinson, of Lancashire Police, said: “Although the male’s head injury is serious, we believe it was the result of a low-level confrontation with a member of security at the pub.
“We do not believe it was a sustained or violent attack.”
Police were called to the Marine Road Central pub at 11.40pm on Friday.

A 41-year-old man from Lancaster was arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of Section 20 wounding/causing grievous bodily harm without intent.
He has been bailed until June 21.
