Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said there were no suspicious circumstances and it was being treated as a freak accident.

One man, who works nearby, said he had been told that the man had fallen out of the window last night.

He said: “I have been told that he has broken his leg but because he has been there all night he is in a bad way, That’s all hearsay though.”

Another woman, who lives nearby, said her friend had called her this morning after hearing someone shouting help.

She said: “My friend parks round the back of our house for work and she called me this morning at about 7.30am saying she could hear someone shouting ‘help’ but couldn’t work out where it was coming from.

“We can’t really hear anything in here but we thought it was strange. I saw a police car a short time later.”
