O’Mara will appear again at Preston Crown Court on October 6.

Police were called to Ocean Edge at around 7pm on Saturday following a report that a 32-year-old woman had sustained serious head injuries at an address at the park.

She was treated in hospital and released.

A short time later a 42-year-old man also sustained serious head injuries when he was struck at the entrance to the holiday park by a dark coloured Ford Fusion being driven from the scene of the first assault.

He is currently in a critical condition at the Royal Preston Hospital.

At about 7.15pm a 53-year-old man walking his dog was struck by what is believed to be the same car at Half Moon Bay.

He only suffered minor injuries.

And at about 7.30pm a 36-year-old woman driving a Peugeot 207 also suffered minor injuries when her car was involved in a collision with a Ford Fusion, again thought to be the same car involved in the earlier incidents.

Lancashire Police’s Force Major Investigation Team (FMIT) are investigating and have asked anyone who may have seen anything to get in touch.

Detective Chief Inspector Dean Holden, who is leading the inquiry, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have seen anything at all related to this serious incident, particularly if they saw the Ford Fusion car, to get in touch with us.
