Man handed restraining order by magistrates

A man who assaulted a woman twice in nine days and damaged property at her home was ordered to do 100 hours unpaid work by magistrates in Lancaster.

Joshua Stokes, of Meadowcroft, Nether Kellet, near Carnforth, pleaded guilty to all three offences and also to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis.

Stokes was made the subject of a restraining order not to contact the woman for the next year.

He was told to pay a total of £480.52 compensation to his victim, £200 court costs and a victim surcharge of £60.
