“In addition to exchanging and furthering academic ideas around the conference theme, it will also provide a boost to the local economy, with many delegates staying in the City and hundreds of extra visitors looking to eat in Lancaster on each of the three nights.”

Businesses are encouraged to contact the conference organisers to discuss how to advertise their services to delegates by emailing [email protected]

With the theme of ‘Meetings’, the conference attendees will explore how society, politics, culture, technologies, people and values affect our lives, and our relationships with others.

The conference will also include a Public Lecture entitled “Meeting Energy” where a panel of experts will discuss current debates in energy provision. To register for the lecture, held at Lancaster Town Hall at 5.30pm on Thursday, July 26, email [email protected]

An exhibition by artist Louise Wilson, a scenographer, visual artist and researcher, will be held on campus in the Peter Scott Gallery, to accompany the conference.

The exhibition marks the beginning of a year-long relationship between Louise and Lancaster Arts.
