Proposals to change the way legal aid is managed will create “conveyor belt justice” according to a Lancaster firm of solicitors.
The government said the right to a fair trial would not be affected and lawyers would have to meet quality standards.
Solicitors staged a protest at Lancaster Magistrates Court on Monday, which was supported by the Public and Commercial Services Union.
The consultation into the proposal ends today, Monday June 4.
