Lancaster nostalgia: Waring and Gillows picture appeal

Lancaster historian Terry Ainsworth has sent in this rare photograph of some of the Waring and Gillows workforce from 1924.

Thomas Henry Brew, complete with splendid moustache, is seated second from the left on the middle row. He was a painter and decorator and the grandfather of Cath Sherrington, wife of Joe who was an excellent footballer in the 1950s and 60s.

Can any readers see their grandfather in this group?

These artisans made the name of Gillows furniture and Lancaster known all over the world.
