Lancaster metal band to support former Iron Maiden frontman

Promethium were asked personally by tour managers Rock Sector whether they would like the support slot for the Bootleggers gig on March 3, and readily agreed, citing their love of the singer’s solo work. Guitarist Dan Lovett-Horn said: “This is a real honour for us to do as well as a dream come true.

“I’m a massive fan of Blaze’s solo work and its not every day you get the chance to support one of your icons, so we are making sure we have got a good heavy tight set ready.”

The gig will see Promethium dig in from their back catalogue from their previous two albums Welcome to the institution and Origins as well as a few from their third album Face of War, due out later this year.

Dan said: “Previously we were signed to Sky Rocket records but we have now formed our own label to control everything ourselves.

“We have two videos planned for the upcoming album and later on in the year we are re-releasing Welcome to the Institution, remixed and remastered on Load 4 Records.

“We had our first music video Visions banned on all music channels due to a bit of graphic content and we had a back up safer version which we were going to use however that got banned as well. So initially both videos were banned within 48 hours of being released, but it certainly got us extra attention.”

Birmingham born Blaze Bayley started his professional music career as lead vocalist of Wolfsbane in 1984.

When Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden in 1993, Bayley was chosen as his replacement, recording two albums with the band.

In 1999, when Iron Maiden announced that vocalist Bruce Dickinson was returning to the band, Bayley started his solo career.
