A motorcyclist from Lancaster has died after his bike left a road and crashed into a post.

It happened yesterday, Sunday, February 2, at around 3.55pm on the B6480 near Giggleswick, close to Settle golf club.

North Yorkshire Police said the 32-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, known as Buck Haw Brow.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was travelling north on a black Kawasaki motorbike when the collision happened.

Police closed the road for nearly five hours while the crash scene was examined. It opened at around 8.45pm.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw the bike travelling along the B6480 before the collision.
