Lancaster acrobat Holly Johnstone has got through to the final stage in BBC1’s show Tumble.

Holly, winner of the 2008 Lancaster and Morecambe Newspapers Talent on Show, is partnered with Ian ‘H’ Watkins of pop band Steps . The show, hosted by Alex Jones, sees celebrities team with acrobatic professionals performing gymnastic routines.

Holly is ecstatic to reach the final with partner H and couldn’t be prouder of their progress on the show.

She told the Guardian: “To reach the final is an awesome feeling, a really great achievement for H and I.

“I am immensely proud of H, the amount of dedication he has put into this whole experience is incredible.

“He has learnt gymnastic tricks in eight weeks which normally takes a gymnast years - unbelievable. He has the best attitude towards training and because of all this he has been able to adapt to each routine we’ve been given quite well.”

Holly and H are one of the six finalists through to Saturday night’s final.

Holly admits that it has been an intense ride.

She said: “The training is extremely intense. We have been training for sometimes up to eight hours a day which is a lot even for the professionals on the show.

“Injury management has been key during the training.

“We as professionals are used to this but the celebs are not so it has been very hard for them to adapt.”
