Ryan Donohue, owner of Fitness Formation gym, is “over the moon” and surprised by the result.

He said: “It’s an incredible achievement, considering we’re one of the smallest gyms in the area and have been open for less than two years.

“This is not my doing though, this is down to our fantastic manager and my brother, Daniel, our head coach Daniel Flynn and most of all our Fitness Formation family. I am highly surprised, considering we were up against some huge facilities with thousands more clients than ourselves and decades more experience.

“We found out we’d been nominated and we asked our clients to get behind us and evidently they did. This is their doing, not ours.”

The gyms which were shortlisted for Gym Of The Year were; 3-1-5 Health Club, Bayfit, Crag Bank Barbell Club, DW Fitness Club, Morecambe, Endure Health & Fitness, Gymophobics Lancaster, Inspire Health and Fitness, Iron Masters Gym, Lancaster Health and Fitness, LMC Sport & Fitness, Military Style Fitness, Richard Mason Fitness, Train Together Functional Fitness.

Deadline for votes were on Monday March 23 at 10am.
