Kissing bulldog has touched many lives

Marshall the bulldog, who had a special booth offering bulldog kisses in exchange for cash at Morecambe’s Taylor’s funfair, died suddenly over the weekend , leaving his owner Allwyn Brown, devastated.

Marshall, who was six, and his owner Allwyn are well known in the area for fundrais ing for bulldog charities and also other animal charities.

Allwyn from Morecambe, said: “He fitted so much inin such a short time.

“You don’t realise how many lives he touched.

“He was a clown, his first year at Crufta he didnt do anything and had no manners but at two years old he went straight to doing everything.

“He loved people, he was a very sociable dog, I never heard him growl.

“He was so good for our breed. So many people hear the name ‘bull’but a dog is only as good as its owner.

“His sister Chloe does follow me about, dogs do grieve like people.”

Allwyn first heard about the kissing booth idea in 2012, when in America there was a pitbull kissing booth.Taylor’s Fun Fair made her and Marshall a kissing booth and he puckered up for charity over the past four years.

Allwyn said: “He went from strength to strength, we raised £3k a year. I’ve done charity events at Wolfwood and during the carnival his kissing booth raised £70. Over Easter we raised £60.

“So many dogs are needing the help now.

“He was such a character and it’s nice to know people loved him. It’s the awareness that needs raising, it is the rescue centres that pick up the pieces . I just can’t believe he raised so much for charity. “

Marshall, whose kennel name is Merrettbull Dreamcatcher, is buried on a family plot in Tarleton with 32 dogs.

Allwyn said: “My life is broken but with Chloe by my side we will get through this.”

A justgiving page has been set up to raise £500 in memory of bulldog Marshall Brown.
