Two children who lost their grandad to a devastating lung disease ran the Junior Great North Run for charity.
Morgan, 11 and Ace Bower, nine, of Heysham raised ore than £1000 for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis after completing the run.
On their just giving page, Morgan wrote: “Our grandad George Bower, who was 69, recently passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis.
“This is a disease which currently has no treatment or cure so we want to raise as much money as we can for the charity to help people in the future suffering from this terrible illness.
“Our Grandad fought this as much as he could to the very end but there was just nothing more which could be done to help. Please please donate any amount you can so we can run our little socks off.”
Morgan and Ace’s mum Lisa said: “There is no treatment or cure for this at the moment and it is just such a cruel disease that kills quickly from diagnosis. If you can help visit https://www.justgiving.com/morganace-Bower/.”
