Members of the Lyrics and Lunch singing group for dementia patients and carers are singing even more sweetly now because a brand new keyboard has been donated to the group in memory of a former member.

Walter Woollven’s daughter Lesley Joyce (pictured second from right) gave the donations in lieu of flowers at her father’s funeral to buy a keyboard for the group in his memory.

Group leader Jeanette Main said: “We were very sad to hear that Walter had died. He was a valued member of our group, a real character and he really enjoyed the music.

“We were quite overwhelmed when Lesley told us she would like to buy us a keyboard with the donations given in his memory.

“It has been a delight to welcome Lesley and her husband to the group today to see and hear their gift in action.”
