A LANCASTER bar and restaurant that closed last year has been re-launched by its former manager.
Bar Eleven and Touro closed suddenly on New Year’s Eve, leaving more than 20 staff members out of work.
But former bar manager Oliver Hogg, 30, who launched Touro in its original format, has now created a new business and opened V-Bar, in the Bar Eleven premises in Church Street, and plans to launch Teatro, in the restaurant space upstairs, on May 23.
Teatro will be a Brazilian grill similar to Touro, and Oliver says part of its appeal will be that it offers tables to book for the whole night.
He said: “The worst thing in any restaurant is to feel rushed as the manager is over-booked.
“Once you book a table in Teatro sit back and relax as it is yours for the night.”
Oliver, originally from Arnside, has spent his working life in the bar and restaurant business. He said: “What a wonderful opportunity to provide the customer with the experience they deserve in this great building, which has been refurbished and updated.
“We are a new company which prides itself on hospitality, and not just service.
“With my experience of the Lancaster market, I believe that both venues will appeal to customers of all age groups.”
