“To hear my name announced to receive the top award of the night was such a fantastic honour,” he said.

“I am thrilled with the recognition from the judges for considering me and my triumphs as a candidate for this award. A brilliant end to a successful year and a very proud personal moment for me. Rest assured this award is taking pride of place at Fat Media HQ.”

The event, which was themed around prohibition-era America, took place at Winter Gardens, Blackpool and also saw fellow Lancastrian, James Brockbank from Digitaloft scoop the Creative and Digital award.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View, said: “John French’s story is a remarkable one – it demands recognition and commands respect. The marketing business employs close to 150 and boasts 1,500 clients including many household names and yet our Young ‘Un of the Year remains humble, approachable and affable. John is generous with his time, his work ethic is admirable and his attitude to his staff is commendable.

“He’s an inspiration to young businesses who aspire to match his achievements.”
