Ice warning after motorist injured as car ends up on its side near Morecambe

A driver was taken to hospital with a back injury after the vehicle ended up on its side in Torrisholme near Morecambe this afternoon.

Lancashire Road Police reeported that the accident happened on Slyne Road just after 3.30pm.

Police said: "The driver lost control on sheet ice causing the Honda to come to rest on its side.

"The driver taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a suspected back injury.

"Thanks to all services for their help."

The incident was attended by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance and North West Air Ambulance.
