SEVERAL hundred people from the Lancaster district were among the hundreds of thousands of anti-cuts protesters in London last Saturday.
They included members of Lancaster and Morecambe Against the Cuts, union members, councillors, students, nurses and teachers,
There was even a street band from More Music in Morecambe, which played the Postman Pat theme tune in support of postal workers on the march.
Members of Lancaster Women Against the Cuts, an offshoot of the Lancaster Feminist Group, were also there.
Sam Ud-din, Lancaster, Morecambe & District National Union of Teachers (NUT) Association Secretary, was on a 500-seat train carrying members from all over Lancashire, which set off from Lancaster at 6.30am.
