The hotel group, which has been run by the Berrys for more than 60 years, was assessed taking into account a range of criteria. These included its approach to corporate social responsibility, green tourism, charitable work, creativity and innovation and commitment to staff development and training.

Simon Berry, managing director of English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues, said: “Winning this award is a real feather in the cap for the entire team. It reflects our business ethos, our approach in terms of pastoral care, and family values which go back several generations.”
