Homes in Morecambe lost electricity on Wednesday night after a short power outage in the resort.

All properties regained power within a short time, but were warned this could be repeated over the next couple of days.

Several houses in the LA1 postcode also lost power on Thursday morning.

A spokesman for Electricity North West said while the whole area was put back on the grid, some houses still connected to generators could experience flickering and short electricity outages.

Meanwhile, it is now business as usual at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, with all outpatient services and appointments and elective surgeries planned to go ahead.

However, power supply concerns mean Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe won’t be back to normal until Monday.

Outpatient clinics there have been moved to the RLI in the meantime.
