On a visit to Lots House Farm in Brookhouse with Lancaster & Fleetwood MP Eric Ollerenshaw, the Home Secretary said: “What is good about this initiative is the work that is being done by local farmers, to actually work with the police to educate them about the industry they are dealing with about sheep, how to identify different breeds and so forth.”

During the visit the Home Secretary also announced that the Government’s Innovation Fund could provide funding for projects to tackle rural crime. The Innovation fund means that every police force in England and Wales will receive a share of a £50 million fund.
