Heysham to M6 link road bridge work delayed

A planned closure of Torrisholme Road for work on the Heysham to M6 link has been postponed.

The closure will now take place on the weekend of Friday, May 29, after being originally scheduled for last weekend.

This is due to high winds affecting crane operations to lift sections of a new bridge into place.

A spokesman for road builders Costain said the date change was chosen to avoid the bank holiday next weekend.

The road will close between Russell Drive and Endsleigh Grove. Barley Cop Lane will also have no access. Diversion signs will be put up.

Pedestrian access along Torrisholme Road and Barley Cop Lane throughout the weekend.

The road is due to reopen on Monday, June 1.
