Millions shed tears when much-loved Coronation Street character Hayley Cropper lost her fight against pancreatic cancer earlier this year.
Now the actor who played Hayley has joined forces with the Lancaster MP to highlight the need for research into the killer disease.
Julie Hesmondhalgh was in Parliament as Eric Ollerenshaw hosted a debate on the issue.
Eric highlighted the need for further research funding to be made available especially in the early diagnosis of the disease.
The debate which was a result of a 100,000 signature e-petition organised by Maggie Watts who lost her husband Kevin to the disease.
