A nostalgic look back at the golden age of bathing beauties in Morecambe comes to town this weekend.

The Morecambe Heritage Centre will host an exhibition based on the Miss Great Britain beauty contests of yesteryear.

Former winners of the title, Gillian McDonnell (1963), Yvonne Ormes (1968) and Wendy George (1969) will be guests at the launch this Friday (May 27).

Coun Carla Brayshaw, deputy mayor of Lancaster, will open the exhibition.

The Heritage Centre near the Winter Gardens will be open from May 28 from 11am until 4pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays for the summer.
