Get locked up for CancerCare

Lancaster Castle.
Lancaster Castle.

Lancaster Castle’s old prison cells will be opened one last time to “lock up” local business people in aid of CancerCare.

This is your chance to take part in an event that is a bit of fun, a great networking opportunity and more importantly a brilliant way to raise vital funds for your local cancer charity.

CancerCare is doing this event as part of its “Challenge 30 Appeal” in which they are hoping to raise £30,000 in 30 weeks.

All they need is three hours of your time on Tuesday, October 22.

You will be escorted by Lancaster Police from The Bay Radio to Lancaster Castle and then locked up in C-Wing with your partners in crime!

Then the fun begins – you have an hour to get on the mobiles and raise your £500 bail.

You may also choose to pre-arrange pledges from your contacts to make the task easier still on the day, or easier still set up a Just Giving page.

Helen Hartin, CancerCare’s community fundraiser, said: “More people than ever need the support that CancerCare offers in our local area,if you would like to become involved then please call fundraising on 01524 381820 or email

“If you cannot make it, then why not nominate someone else!”
