Fuudey is already powering the on-line mobile presence for more than 20 North West restaurants and has taken over 12,000 orders since its launch last year – totalling cash transactions of over £60,000.

Preston-based digital agency Blush have developed the Fuudey app with a simple mission: to give restaurants and takeaways a mobile presence with direct control over the customer experience.

Customers can use the dedicated app to pay the restaurant directly, rather than through a third party.

Blush director Daniel Fisher said: “The Fuudey project came about when I was talking to a friend who owns a restaurant. He said he felt like he had no choice but to go with the major established apps. And the more people we asked, the more you realised it wasn’t a one off. This idea that people were signing up because they felt they had no alternative didn’t make sense to us.

“Fuudey is the stand out alternative. We’ve rewritten the rules and as we grow we hope more and more restaurants and takeaways will choose a mobile app of their own powered by the tried and trusted fixed-fee Fuudey app.”

Fuudey is targeting a £30 billion takeaway industry that reports successful trading figures.

Daniel adds: “Other national takeaway apps are reporting growth of over 50 per cent. But this is growth in their revenue doesn’t necessarily filter down to the takeaway and restaurant owners.

“They feel they have no choice and end up working harder for reduced margins. We don’t think that’s fair.

“And we want Fuudey to help them fight back.”
