The weekly sessions will take place in community venues such as libraries.

Attendees will receive personal advice.

County councillor Tony Martin, cabinet member for adult and community services, said: “These weekly work clubs are set up in the heart of the community so that they are easy to get to.

“They provide people with advice and support which is totally confidential.

“Anyone ready to apply for work can get help with writing their CV, covering letters and application forms so that they present themselves as well as possible to a potential employer.

“They can also practise being in an interview situation and get tips to help with this.

“Universal jobmatch is also available – this is a facility to help people to find and apply for the latest jobs, locally, nationally and abroad.

“The work clubs are an opportunity to meet other people, exchange skills, share experiences, find opportunities, make contacts and get help.”
