Folk stars to perform in Scorton

NEW stars of the British contemporary folk music scene, Blackheart, next week play an intimate concert in Scorton, near Garstang.

The concert will also act as a fundraiser for the refurbishment of Scorton Village Hall and organisers are hoping for a sell out.

Blackheart are widely regarded as the fastest rising new stars of the British acoustic scene and have had their unique style of music christened “Urban Folk” by the UK music press.

The concert will showcase the unforgettable voice of Chrissy Mostyn and jaw-dropping acoustic guitar playing of Rick Pilkington with highly entertaining audience interaction as they tell the stories behind their songs.

The last three years have seen them headline their own successful tours across the UK, Scotland and Ireland, a major city tour as guest of Jared Osmond of the famous Osmond family; feature in a TV commercial soundtrack and attract worldwide radio play – they were twice selected as BBC Radio 2’s Spotlight Song of the Day.
