Five injured in Skerton Bridge crash

Five people were injured in a three car crash which totally blocked Skerton Bridge at 3.50pm today, Thursday.

Police said when they arrived the occupants from all three cars had got out of their vehicles.

The Fire Service and North West Ambulance Service were both at the scene.

North West Ambulance Service said two ambulances were sent and found five patients all with minor injuries.

One person was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment for a minor head injury.

None of the injuries suffered were life threatening.

One motorist travelling from White Lund Industrial Estate said it took an hour to reach Skerton Bridge due to the accident and traffic congestion.

Traffic was still building up travelling into Lancaster.
