The event was ticket only but according to the organisers ticket sales seemed to indicate that it was one of the best years ever, with one family travelling all the way from Glasgow specifically to come to the display.

The teams worked hard in the weeks leading up to the display and on the day undertook all the required finishing touches in their stride.

Mark Caudle, from The Party Project, provided entertainment to keep the crowd interested until the bonfire was lit at 6.45pm, with the fireworks display starting shortly afterwards.

Stalls selling hog roast pork, burgers, doughnuts and hot drinks were on site for those who needed a bit of warming up.

Flashing novelties were also on sale and seemed to go down well with children of all ages. Trust Medical had an ambulance and team on hand in case they were needed – which they weren’t, for there were no accidents for them to deal with and the local Fire Tender with a crew of retained brigade members had an interested crowd around them until the display started.

Several members of the police were available with Special Constables forming part of their team.

The display lasted 24 minutes of non-stop exciting, brilliant fireworks, all set to music chosen by the team and designed by the B-L-S Bonfire and Fireworks Committee chairman, Malcolm Lawrie.

As the crowd departed the general consensus of was that it had been another fabulous display.
