Ferry crashes into pier

A ferry collided with a pier in the Isle of Man injuring five passengers.

The Manannan had left Liverpool at 7.05pm on March 23 but on arriving in Douglas collided with the Victoria Pier.

The vessel docked in Douglas around 10.40pm.

All passengers and vehicles were disembarked, including five passengers who suffered injuries.

They were taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

The Steam Packet Company is investigating the cause of the collision and Manannan will be assessed overnight for damage.

The firm also runs Heysham to Isle of Man services.
