A TINY family kitten was kicked to death in an alleyway, leaving horrified Freehold residents in shock.

Steven Kidd and his partner Sue Mackintosh returned fron a walk in the Trough of Bowland to be told by a neighbour in Greenfield Street that Jack, their nine-month old tabby, was dead in the ginnel behind his home.

The neighbour had earlier seen the cat in the alleyway with three youths wearing hoodies, but said he had not seen them harming the animal.

Mr Kidd said two gas engineers working on pipes in the street had also reported seeing youths acting suspiciously in the alleyway,

Jack’s death has left the couple and their two children, aged eight and 10, devastated.
