A NEWLY qualified midwife has arranged a Zumbathon to raise money for the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI).
Claire Metcalfe, 38, and other fans of the dance craze will take to the dance floor on a stage in Lancaster Market Square from 11am this Sunday, May 13.
Participants are invited to come in fancy dress if they like, with Elvis Presley among the dancers confirmed.
Claire, who also works as a bank nurse at the RLI, said: “It is my local hospital so I think it’s important locals support it. We all hope it will be there for us if we need it and lots of people already receive great care from our hospital. I know how hard all the staff work.
“Anyone is welcome to our zumbathon - it’s really just about having fun. People can just turn up on the day to support us.”
It costs £6 to take part or people can just add to the collection buckets.
All money raised will go to Morecambe Bay Hospitals Charity. Donations can also be made at www.justgiving.com/ClaireSMetcalfe.
