Life is outstanding at Lancaster & Morecambe College’s Treetops nursery – and that’s official.
The nursery was recently inspected by Ofsted and retained its Outstanding grade awarded in 2005.
The nursery, which is open to college staff, students and external clients, caters for children aged two to four years and was judged as outstanding across all areas of early years provision.
The report stated: “Children flourish and make excellent progress in their learning.
“This is because the staff’s knowledge and understanding of learning and development requirements and how children learn and develop, is first rate. Children’s needs are extremely well met. Staff are highly successful at engaging parents in their children’s learning.”
The report also praised how children are prepared for primary school: “Staff place a high priority in supporting children in helping them to become independent so that they are ready for school.”
The relationships with parents and carers were also recognised: “The nursery is vibrant, stimulating and welcoming. Staff are highly skilled in forging strong relationships with children and their families.”
Speaking about the Ofsted report, college principal David Wood said: “I’m absolutely delighted with this fantastic achievement by our nursery team and am extremely proud of the outstanding quality of service we continue to offer to not only our staff and students, but also our wider local community.”
