Brownies which take only one minute to cook – these are the brainchild of student Ben Cannon, a Year 13 pupil at Lancaster Royal Grammar School.

Ben launched his company, The Lazy Bakery, just before Christmas with the product the Lazy Bake, a brand new microwavable Chocolate Brownie.

The pre-prepared mixture comes in pots – you just need to add water and pop it in the microwave.

Ben said: “It’s not only fun to make, it only takes one minute to bake!”

According to Ben, brand loyalty to the business is growing by the day with new customers giving positive feedback, as well as putting their hands in their pockets.

Despite the name of his business, Ben sounds far from lazy!

He said: “Running the business alongside my school work has proved difficult but rewarding as I get to see the business grow withought sacrificing my education.

“On top of this, I am gaining knowledge through studying Business & Management which I can then begin to apply within the Lazy Bakery, making a more successful company.”

As for the future, Ben said: “I plan to take The Lazy Bakery to the ‘Big Four’ supermarkets and make Lazy Bake a household name.

“Big ambitions I know - but you have to have an end goal!”
